Nutrition :
Bored of upma & pulao? Change the grain to Samak and enjoy a lighter and healthier version. Can be eaten as a breakfast or as a substitute to rice. High in fibre, it is better than rice-based dishes

Ingredients :
Samak, Tomato, Potato, Ghee & Spices

Instructions :
  1. Heat a pan & add 2 tsp ghee and cumin seeds (zeera) to taste and stir- fry 2 diced potatoes
  2. In a cooker, add 2 chopped tomatoes and saute
  3. Add 1 katori of washed Samak and 1 tsp salt, a pinch of red chilli (optional) and black pepper as per taste
  4. Add 4 katori of water and pressure cook for 1 whistle
  5. Open after pressure is released and mix well with the stir-fried potatoes
  6. Serve with curd
Makes 3-4 katori cooked pulav
