Barley Porridge for Kids

Nutrition :
High fibre, protein & calcium, B vitamins, iron & magnesium dish, very healthy for kids. Adding jaggery instead of sugar increases the iron content

Ingredients :
Barley atta, Milk, Sugar/ Jaggery, Ghee

Instructions :
  1. In a saucepan, dry roast ½ katori of barley atta for 2 minutes with continuous stirring till fragrant. Transfer it to a clean & dry bowl
  2. Boil 1 katori of water
  3. Slowly add the roasted barley atta to this boiling water with continuous stirring to prevent lump formation. Simmer the flame for a minute.
  4. Now add 1 katori milk and stir well. Allow it to boil for a minute, then add sugar or jaggery as per taste
Makes approx 1-1.5 katori porridge
